Swix + Skiing at the lake Placid Nordic Center

THE SNOW HAS ARRIVED!

Welcome to the new Mt. Van Hoevenberg Nordic Center Conditions Report. Here you will find everything you need to know for a day of Cross Country Skiing. From trail statuses to base depth, we have everything you need and more to be prepared your day at Mt. Van Ho.

What's Happening...

We’ve received 4″ of a heavy, sticky snow and it’s still coming down! Grooming will be ongoing as we try to keep ahead of it. All trails will be skiable, most everything minus perhaps Porter and HiNotch will get rolled today. Pisten Bullies have regroomed Comp Trails with trackset, and they will attempt the same on the flats of the Legacy Trails later. We’ll try to add trackset to the bi-side as time allows (PM?). Don’t forget the Maxi-Glide or F4!
With visits to our venue a new experience during this pandemic, here are a few tips to make your visit to Van Ho a little more pleasant:
  • Please boot up at your car (while driving, leave them down by the heater vent so they’re nice and toasty)!
  • Leave your bags and lunch in your vehicle. Thermoses and small coolers will keep items from freezing.
  • Remember: No Mask, No Distance, No Service! Face Coverings are required at all times, except while dining and actively skiing.
  • Although we would love for you to come in to explore the new Mountain Pass Lodge, please limited your time inside. Food is now available up on the second floor, and of course bathrooms are available.
  • Day passes must be purchased ON-LINE

Enjoy the snow and see you out on the trails!

Season pass holders: If you haven’t picked up your RFID season pass card, please do so today! They are ready for you. When you arrive please be sure to scan your pass card at the gate in front of the lodge!

Don’t forget to join us on Facebook and Instagram to stay updated on all of the happenings at Van Ho.
