Operational Updates

If you aren’t feeling well, are experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19, or have been in contact with someone who was diagnosed with COVID-19 in the last 21 days, please stay home and plan to visit us another time.

At Mt. Van Hoevenberg, our team is:

  • Undergoing a daily health screening prior to every shift.
  • Following guidelines recommended by New York State and CDC.
  • Implementing increased frequency of cleaning procedures and a deep clean at night.
  • Reducing capacity where necessary to maintain social distancing.
  • Placing hand sanitizer stations throughout the venue.

When visiting Mt. Van Hoevenberg, please help us by:

  • Wearing a face covering (mask). These are required at all times while you are at Mt. Van Hoevenberg except for when actively skiing or when you are eating/drinking while seated.
  • Washing your hands often or using hand sanitizer when washing isn’t available.
  • Practicing social distancing.

Ticketing – capacities may be limited.

  • Advanced purchase online is required for all tickets, attractions, activities, lessons, programs and rentals.
  • The availability of tickets for attractions, activities, lessons, programs and rentals at Mt. Van Hoevenberg is not guaranteed, and you may not be able to enjoy your desired activity without a pre-purchased ticket.
  • Cross Country Trail Tickets are not currently for sale in the online store. If you are planning to visit Mt. Van Hoevenberg for cross country skiing and you do not have a 2020/21 Season Pass, please check back here for ticketing instructions prior to opening day (to be announced).

Arrival / Departure

  • Use lot 3 or 4 for parking.
  • Do not leave children unattended at drop off areas.
  • Arrive as ready to go as possible, avoiding unnecessary indoor time.
  • Indoor storage space is limited; we encourage you to leave personal belongings in your vehicle.

Food and Beverage

  • All indoor food and beverage locations will adhere to a 50% reduction in capacity. Tables are spaced at a minimum of 6’ apart.
  • Thank you for making room for others. Tables in foodservice areas can be occupied by those who have purchased food and beverage for up to 30 minutes in any location.
  • Please try to avoid the busier lunch hour of approximately 12 noon. Look for daily specials we will be serving during off-peak hours.
  • Individuals who are bringing their own food can use our outdoor spaces.
  • Sorry, food preparation, food sharing, and heating of food is not permitted.
  • No storing food at tables, locker rooms, or other public spaces.

Lodges

  • Wear a face covering at all times. Social distancing is required.
  • Please do not socialize inside.
  • If you need to store personal items inside, please use a locker or the shelving units and wall hooks provided. Consider leaving all of your personal items in your vehicle.
  • Personal items cannot be stored under tables or in areas other than lockers, shelving units, or wall hooks.
  • Restroom occupancies have been reduced by 50%. Outdoor bathroom facilities are available.

Lessons & Programs

  • We will be having a phased opening for our lessons & programs.
  • Details are coming soon for all lessons and programs.
  • We require those taking lessons to complete a health screening 24 hours prior to the lesson.

Seasonal and Day-Use Lockers

  • Face coverings are required at all times. Please be efficient to get what you need and exit.
  • Locker fronts and locks will be sanitized nightly during the deep clean process of our lodges.
  • Please observe reduced capacities and wait for others to exit before entering locker areas. Please be courteous.
  • Please limit your time inside and your locker room use.

Child Care

  • We will not be offering indoor child care services this season. Please see information about lessons & programs for our youngest guests.

General Health & Safety Information

Everyday Guidelines to Help Stop the Spread: Protect Yourself and Others

As recommended by New York State:

  • Wear a mask if
    • You are within 6 feet of distance from other individuals
    • You are indoors at any venue or location.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially before you eat.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
  • Cover your cough and sneezes with a tissue and discard it in a closed container.
  • Clean frequently touched surfaces and objects.
