IBSF BOBSLED & SKELETON WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS LAKE PLACID, USA
March 6-9 & 14-15, 2025
This premier event brings together the world’s top bobsled and skeleton athletes, all competing for the title of World Champion across disciplines.
Mt Van Hoevenberg, with its rich history of winter sporting events, provides the perfect backdrop for this elite competition that is sure to be packed with career-defining moments as athletes race down one of the most technical tracks in the world, building momentum for the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milano Cortina.
“We’ll be marking 25 years of women’s World Championship bobsleigh and skeleton as Lake Placid hosts its eleventh World Championships, while honoring the remarkable legacy of this venue as host to the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympics with less than a year to go to Milano Cortina 2026,” explained Ivo Ferriani, President of IBSF.
With over 300 athletes from a record-breaking 38 nations, this year’s competition promises to be the most thrilling yet as athletes navigate the epic 20-curve track—the most of any competitive sliding venue in the world—requiring absolute precision to tackle the infamous “Devil’s Highway” (curves 4-9), Benham’s Bend (curve 14), and “The Heart” omega (curves 19-20) in pursuit of glory.
So, join us in Lake Placid at one of the world’s most iconic sports venues for an unforgettable festival-style experience featuring a Heart Festival Tent styled as a Biergarten, live entertainment, food vendors, interactive exhibits, and don’t miss your chance to be part of the excitement as we crown the next generation of champions!
